MY LAST TWO WEEKS

February 17, 2013

I finally finished the quilt for the church nursery. All the children in the 3 to 5 year old group drew pictures that I then incorporated into a quilt.
My granddaughter Kaylee informed that her Zentangle sneakers were to small so I did another pair in hot pink. They fit. Thank God and she has already worn them.
Yesterday was spent with some of my favorite people. The clients at Jespy House in West Orange. We painted on muslin with watercolor. Their expressions were worth a million dollars when they saw what they had created. We will be using these in their art books.

I've also started my wet felting for Art and Soul. I have to get together some scarves and I'm working on some new things using smaller pieces that were left over from previous projects. The end of April will be here before we know it.

Rhode Island and Manahawkin 2013

                                                          Monday, February 4, 2013

Where have the last two weeks gone?  On Thursday, January 31 I drove to Wakefield, Rhode Island with my  two friends, Stephanie and Maddy to The Folk Art Quilt Shop for a fun day with Thea Roy, where we learned to combine tea bags in our mutli-media art.

We left there at 5 o'clock to head to Tracy Stilwell's home, in Charlestown to drop off our food and sewing machines for the weekend of Baubles and Beads. It was then off to the Surfside Motel for a good nights sleep.

The next day started bright and early, eagerly awaiting  the arrival of several of our friends for the fun to
begin. What a great day it was! Linda Willis,  along with Tracy started us off with painting on water-color paper which we would later embellish with fabric and other treasures..The finished pieces were incredible.

Our meals were fabulous, with everything cooked by all the girls. Betti  made tomato soup and a salad, Stephanie made a Tunisian stew, I brought Francis' pasta sauce and a date and apple cake, Kathy made
macaroni and cheese and there were so many other good things to eat, no one left hungry!

It's always so sad to leave, but we left with our next date on the calendar. See you all in June.
 .
On February 2, I headed to Manahawkin and the Artsy Soul, Colleen Athens shop.

I was taking another class with Doreen Kassel on using Christmas balls and polymer clay to make beautiful

ornaments and figures. We also did music boxes; what FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I finished two pieces, a bunny and a skinny leg girl on a music box. I can't wait to paint her, ever though I love her as she is.

Doreen is a great teacher, sharing all her knowledge and tips with all her students. The pieces made were
just incredible..

Thank you Colleen for a great time!

Can't wait to see what's next.  Have a blessed week.

Parting is such Sweet sorrow

All good things have to come to an end. It's time to call it a day and head home!

What a great time was had visiting with my friend, Margaret Applin, in Lowell, Massachusetts.
Last night was spent creating papers using Terri Stegmiller's stencils.

We also played with paint
products that were new to me, including Liquitex spray paints that are safe to use indoors.

A short stop for a slice of pizza and we continued until 12 pm.
Of to bed to catch some ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.
Up and at it again this morning.
Headed home to babysit granddaughter, Amaya, with my hubby!

Create whenever you find the time.

Weekend in Lowell, MA

Can you really believe this is happening? I'm at my very dear friend's home where she is creating a blog for me. Who would ever believe this!

Now I have to promise to keep it up! I am so excited. Please don't hold me to doing this on a weekly basis,
but I will try my best to update once a month, or so.

We had dinner last night at a Tapas restaurant, called Moonstone. The meal was great, my first truffle and parmesan french fries.

Then home to Margaret's FAB artist's loft and talking until we both were exhausted and hit the hay!
